“Had a new heat pump (American Standard) installed two months ago by Howell's which failed due to faulty compressor. My 91-yr old sister lived in the apartment where the new system was installed. Howell's couldn't give us a time period to get a replacement air compressor due to a backorder condition at the manufacture's facility. Howell's did come out and install a portable AC to cool my sister's bedroom, and the gentleman who installed the portable was extremely nice, helpful and through. The bedroom is cool but the rest of the apartment, kitchen and living room, are hot. We have been experiencing extremely hot humid weather and expect more hot weather all summer, and it's hard on my sister to live in such conditions. I feel that Howell's should find another alternative to correct this problem other than tell me that we will have to live with this until the backorder can be cleared. I have been a faithful customer of Howell's for many years and feel like the company is throwing up their hands with the "nothing we can do" attitude. I trusted Howell's to install a quality heat pump and stand behind any problem encountered due to their heat pump recommendation and installation. I've been extremely disappointed and fear for my sister's health if this condition lasts much longer.”
